Alicia Liu 刘天好

Hello!

I’m a 4th-year at UChicago, where I study Computer Science & Philosophy.

I currently work as a computational neuroscience research asssistant in the Motivation and Cognition Neuroscience Lab at UChicago, advised by Yuan Chang Leong.

I like to decode how the brain works, how it enables subjective experiences of the world, and how failures in its workings arise. I’m passionate about computational psychiatry: applying computational methods (e.g. AI/ML) to achieve a precise and mathematical understanding of illnesses to facilitate diagnosis and treatment. Here is a cool TED Talk about the reasons we need computational psychiatry.

In my free time, I like to read (mostly novels and philosophy, but also manga), write, take photos (which I post here), play video games, and visit art galleries and cafes. I'm currently writing my undergraduate thesis on the philosophy of love.
